Travel writer Simon Edge, writing in the Daily Express on February 18th 2006 said:

"I had the choice of three sumptuous suites at the front of the house, all done out in smart country house décor. I chose the smallest but that still gave me a large sitting room with a kitchen and dining area, plus a comfortable bedroom and a brand new bathroom with a separate walk-in shower. It wasn't just the space that was impressive but the attention to detail. My kitchen had a microwave and toaster, and a jug of fresh milk in the fridge for the tea and coffee. There was a video and DVD player, with a selection of films I actually wanted to watch, and in the sideboard I found novels and board games, plus an iron. The bathroom had more soaps and oils than you could shake a loofah at - in proper bottles - and I have never before stayed in a hotel which provides ducks for your bath."
